What a wonderful and unique doll! She is the closed mouth version of Simon and Halbig 939, and in addition she is a so-called Belton-type head! She has beautiful perfect bisque and a Sonneberg-style body. She wears a darling dress and has a really great antique straw hat! She comes with advertising that shows the date of her last purchase in 1990 from Nickel Antiques for $2500. So she has been tucked away in a private collection for the last 26 years. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me prior to purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:

Head: Her bisque head is perfect with no hairlines, chips or repairs. She has a flattened solid dome head with one large stringing hole. Her bisque is high quality with a glow to it. She has large brown paperweight eyes with spiraling. Her painting is excellent with thickly feathered brows, and shaded and accented closed lips with a white space between them. She has a beautiful old hand-stitched human hair wig. She is marked S9H 939. Examination: Nothing to report! Gorgeous and fine!

Body: Her body is in the Sonneberg style with composition torso and lower limbs while the upper limbs are of wood. She has straight wrists and loose balls joints at the hips. The wooden parts have some paint chipping, the lower torso has crazing, and a crack has been stabilized with glue. Other than a small area at the neck socket, the finish is all original. It is a crier body, which I do not often see on Sonneberg bodies, but the pull strings are missing so I do not know if the crier is operational.

Clothes: She is wearing a very nice dress, as well as a camisole, half-slip and bloomers. These display as if they are antique, but I believe they were made some time ago of old fabrics and laces - long enough ago for the dress to show some fading on the front. Everything is in very good condition. She has antique pink wool stockings and oilcloth tie shoes. She has a truly wonderful antique two-tone straw hat lined with silk - best hat ever!
