Artist David Everett Sculpture Abstract Female Torso
Exquisite vintage wood sculpture by listed artist David Everett (1950-). This sculpture is carved from soapberry wood which is a native to the Austin, Texas, area where David still works and lives. This sculpture is from a series of abstracted works produced between 1975 and about 1984. The title of this piece is "Dime-A-Dancer" and is an abstract form of a woman's torso. The sculpture is large and mounted to a round base. Soapberry wood has a wonderful mix of graining which adds to the beauty of this sculpture. It is signed D. Everett 1977 on the lower portion of the sculpture. David's pieces are in many private and public collections. His vintage pieces seldom come up for sale. It was originally purchased at the Avan-Taos Gallery in Taos in 1978. Dimensions: 23" tall by 13" across and 9" deep. Excellent condition with some minor age splits in the wood.
