Pencil signed, Japanese woodblock print by
Toshi Yoshida (1911-1995). It is a variant state of the design listed in the Yoshida Hanga Studio Catalogue as Monjiro, 1981. Toshi Yoshida is the eldest son of Shin Hanga school master, Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950), and in the last six years since his death, has been achieving the recognition that eluded him during his lifetime. This print is in pristine condition, with intense colors. It is from a private collection, and has never been framed. The print measures approximately 5 5/8 by 5 3/4 inches. |
