Genuine Toyokuni III Woodblock Print
Original mid-19th century Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Toyokuni III (1786-1875), depicting depicting a bald man. There are flames on the sleeve of is kimono, which tie in nicely to the flames on the cart shown in the cartouche on the upper left. The print is in very good condition, with wonderfully fresh colors. There is a light mica overprinting over the darkest black area at the top of the print. No backing. The image measures approximately 13 15/16 by 9 1/2 inches, plus the top margin.
