Original Taiso Yoshitoshi (1839-1892), titled "Moon of the Enemy's Liar - Prince Usu", 1886. This print is plate 42 from the popular and important series, "100 Aspects of the Moon". The orange in pants and flame beginning to oxidize, typically and indication that deluxe pigements were used. It is from a set that was never backed or bound into an album. The image measures approximately 13 x 8 7/8 inches, plus incredibly large margins. There is a grey smudge in left margin. |
