Original Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi
Yoshida (1876-1950), titled Himeji Castle - Morning, 1926. It has both
a brush signature in the image, and a pencil signature in the bottom
margin. There is also a jizuri seal in the upper left margin, denoting that
Yoshida had approved of the quality of the print. This design is illustrated at plate 77 of Ogura, Tadao et. al.,
The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987).
This print is in excellent condition, with extremely vivid colors. The image measures approximately 14 1/2 by 9 5/8 inches, plus full margins. |
