| A marvelously carved ivory okimono formed as a ferry boat filled with lively passengers in conversation. The artist simulates the boat's navigation through waters by carving spume and waves along its base. Each passenger on the boat is expressive in position and facial expression. This delightful ivory sculpture comes with an elegant ivory stand with scrolled feet. Incised artist signature reads " Yoshihisa Kawamoto Shu" on base. Length: 5.25" (boat), 6" (stand) 19th Century, Japan | ||||||||||
