|A fine Japanese silver-inlaid matchlock gun with wood frame and russet-iron barrel. Its sleek design emphasizes the precision and meticulous construction used to define this weapon. Its flat spring-lock and beautifully-curved side calls attention to the silver kaga-inlaid and rounded muzzle of the piece; note triangular front sight and kimono sleeve-shaped rear sight. This matchlock is in very good condition with wear commensurate with age and use. The ramrod, however, is missing, making the matchlock no longer practical for shooting, but a marvelous antique artform to enhance any collection. Length: 22" 19th Century, Japan|
