An excellent iron jizai, a completely articulated fresh-water prawn with long arms (ebi tenaga), signed Myochin on its nether side. (For a similar jizai, see “Jizai Okimono, Articulated Iron Figures of Animals” by Harada Kazutoshi, pg. 71.) Includes wooden owner’s box. This naturalistically rendered prawn is in fine condition with only minor signs of wear to age. (Please see images.) Otherwise, this piece has no loss, damage or restoration. Length: 9” Edo Period, Japan
