| A delicate gold and silver lacquer covered box with inner tray and aogai inlay forming two overlapping, conjoined boxes. Overall imagery consists of pine, rockwork and running streams cascading through mountains. Its idyllic, fairy- book setting detailed in sprinkled gold, high relief and nashiji is a feast for the eyes. This stunning gold-lacquered box is in excellent condition with only minor wear on the edges consistent with age and use. Gilt signature and red-lacquered seal of the famous lacquer artist Kajikawa Bunryu-sai on reverse side of lid.
