A unique patinated bronze paper holder formed as the grimacing mask of the Noh theater character, Hannya. This expressive mask is carved and incised with accents in gilt and enamel. Silver signature plaque, Ippo sai, on the front. This paper holder will be a bold statement for use in your office or study. Excellent condition with only minor rubbing to the horns, commensurate with age and use. Length: 3” Circa 1900 (Meiji Period), Japan
