A Japanese silver okimono of Daikoku, one of the Seven Gods of Good Luck, seated on two bales of rice with his magic mallet in hand and treasure sack over his back. The god of prosperity is carefully chiseled to denote his noble yet benign appearance. Daikoku is in excellent condition with no damage. The okimono includes a wooden box inscribed: (Front) Daikoku Ten (God) /Silver; (Back) Mold by Takamura Koun. In addition, both a“Silver 900” mark and Takamura Koun seal are impressed on the base and side, respectively. Height: 5.6” Early Showa Period, Japan
