A striking double-walled Japanese silver pedestal bowl with flaring, scalloped rim. Its globular body is sculpted in the highest relief with multitudes of koi swimming over each other as they brave the turbulence of swirling waters. “Jungin” (pure silver) mark can be found on base. (East Asian cultures associate the carp (koi) with prosperity and achievement, often portrayed swimming against the current. This breath-taking, tour-de-force silver bowl is in excellent condition with no problems. Height: 6.25”, diameter: 8.75” Meiji Period, Japan
