 SOLD, MANY THANKS!
A marvelous pair of geese, in gleaming, patinated bronze sculpted naturalistically, their feathers ruffled and eyes inlaid with shakudo on gold. A beautiful and distinctive patina coupled with precise chiseled work are characteristics of the fine workmanship of Maruki, the renowned Meiji Period metallurgist studio. The Maruki signature plaque can be found on the nether side of one goose, an incised mark on the other. This pair of bronze geese is in excellent condition. (Gander) Height: 6.5”, length: 8.25”; (goose) Height: 4”, length: 8” Meiji Period, Japan
