An exquisite kiseruzutsu comprised of lacquered bamboo pipe case and silken tobacco pouch, the fittings of incised silver. The sleek and striated bamboo pipe case is attached to the pouch by a carnelian ojime, the pouch, itself, an autumnal scene connoting stylized maple, pawlonia and other flora. The kanemono is formed as Daikoku’s magical mallet in shakudo, shibuichi and gold. A simple yet elegant bamboo pipe with silver and shakudo fittings completes the ensemble, each piece nicely aged and in overall good condition. Length (pipe case): 9” Meiji Period, Japan
