A fine, stained boxwood manju netsuke formed as three monkeys in fetal position, each clasping the other’s hand. The focus of the netsuke-shi’ attention lies with the sculpting of the bodies with minimum detailing. This netsuke is in excellent condition with nice patina. Provenance: Ex. Collection of the Lowe Art Museum in Florida. Diameter: 2” 18th/ 19th Century, Edo Period, Japan
