A yellow-bronze incense burner on three splayed feet, its silver-lined lid surmounted by a brilliantly-sculpted silver kiku. The cover of this splendid censer is decorated with reticulated and kaga-inlaid butterflies in dazzling metals. On the body, two lively cockerels, kaga-inlaid with gold, silver, shakudo and enamel, confront each other. Hattori incised seal can be found on the base. This bronze censer with its impressive imagery is in very good condition. Height: 6.5”, width: 5” Meiji Period, Japan
