An enchanting bronze and parcel gilt okimono of a dancing boy in festival garb joyfully waving a banner over his head. His heavy gold necklaces, kabuto and robes, richly adorned with gilt family crests in high relief, convey the sculptor’s fascination with holiday spirit and pageantry. This delightful sculpture is attributed to the renowned metallurgist Miyao Eisuke. Excellent condition with neither damage nor repairs. Height: 9.5” Meiji Period, Japan
