A fine pair of cloisonné enamel high-shouldered vases with silver mounts. Worked in silver wires of varying thicknesses, a plenitude of seasonal flowers and grasses in jewel tones cluster on the glossy-enameled surfaces, defining each season’s special beauty. In the classic, elegant style of the great Nagoya-based artist Hayashi Kodenji. The pair is in very good condition with very faint surface wear commensurate with age. This does not detract from their overall beauty and craftsmanship. Heights: 6.25” Meiji Period, Japan
