From the kiln of renowned Imari porcelain studio, Fukagawa, this pair of Imari porcelain vases of bottle form is finely enameled and unusual in concept. Their necks decorated with exquisite textile patterns and chrysanthemums contrast with bucolic scenes of temple retreats nestling among pine and maple forests. The characteristic Fukagawa red Koransha mark is visible on the bases, the red Koransha characteristic of earlier pieces. This handsome pair of porcelain vases is in excellent condition with neither damage nor restoration. Heights: 12.25” Circa 1870s, Japan
