An important celadon vase of ovoid form rendered with delicately-colored, moriage fish swirling among seaweed. (Master ceramicist Suwa Sozan perfected the celadon technique in Japan and in 1914 was commissioned by the Korean government to revive the celadon market there. In 1917 Suwa Sozan was made Imperial court artist.) Sozan’s signature seal can be found on the base of this exquisite celadon vase. It is in excellent condition and includes tomobako.
