A delightful, oversized boxwood netsuke sculpt as a youngster atop Daikoku’s magical mallet garbed in a sleeveless jacket etched with a star-shaped pattern. Children are often portrayed with the seven lucky gods, and, in this case, Daikoku’s magical mallet, symbolic of the god, himself, is the beautifully-carved subject. This okimono-style netsuke is in excellent condition with no damage and no restoration. Height: 1.5”, length: 1.75” Meiji Period, Japan
