A wonderful pair of Imari porcelain shallow bowls formed as boats. On a rich cobalt-blue ground with delicate gilt sprays and small rondels of fruits, cartouches of various forms depict cherry blossoms, ikebana arrangements and koi swimming above fishing nets. These auspicious motifs are rendered in various degrees of iron red,gilt and green enamel. This set of Imari porcelain bowls is in excellent condition with no chip, cracks or restoration. Length: 11" Width: 7.5" Meiji Period, Japan.
