A large bronze baluster vase with archaic-shaped legs and handles. Executed in gold, silver, shibuichi and copper, its central visual is defined by kaga-inlaid lappets at neck and feet. Upon the body, a regal egret, kaga-inlaid in silver rests upon a snow laden branch sculpt in shakudo and surrounded by sprays of silvery, snowy reeds. Brilliantly positioned on the reverse, a lone egret soars in mid-air. Kyoto Kuroda and Komi signatures on base. This elegant bronze and multi-metal vase is in excellent condition. Height, 11.8"; width, 6.3" Meiji Period, Japan
