A pair of elegant Hirado bottle vases with underglazed blue cranes flying about the necks, bodies and along turbulent, cresting waves on a Hirado-white ground. On the bases, in underglaze blue, Dai Nippon Mikawachi kiln characters.(The Mikawachi kiln is the oldest documented Hirado porcelain kiln in Japan and was especially noted for its exquisite underglaze blue painting. The vases are in very good condition with only a slight kiln flaw on the base of one vase. Heights: 10.5” 19th Century, Japan
