A spectacular silver, shibuichi and gilt sculpture of the beloved hermit, Gama Sennin. His open robe, loosely tied at the waist with dangling coins and a gourd, reveal his upper body, finely chiseled and incised. The sage’s constant companion, the magical three- legged toad, sits upon one out-stretched hand, a gleaming, silver lily in the other. Silver signature plaque can be found on outcrop, Joun Saku (Oshima Joun). In overall excellent condition. Height, 9.5"; width, 6.5"; length, 10.5" Taisho Period, Japan
