A high-shouldered, tapered cloisonné vase with shakudo rims. Executed in both wire and wireless techniques, this exquisite vase is designed with two disparate visuals: surrounding the shoulders and dipping downward toward its center, wisteria cascades over water shallows and rockwork in softly modulated tones of gray, pale blue, green and white. Encircling the vase, shimmering fish glide above and below the waters. Rare green-enameled Ando mark at base. Possible prior restoration to the side of the shoulder, both minor and imperceptible. Otherwise, the vase is in good condition. Height: 14.5” Meiji Period, Japan
