| This marvelous 5-piece tea set of Japanese hammered silver will elevate to new heights the simple joy of pouring tea for your family and guests. The entire set is intricately designed in high relief with a profusion of overlapping kiku (chrysanthemum), its silver content 950. Dragons, each scale delicately delineated, form the handles while realistically wrought kiku leaves serve as spouts. The set consists of a teapot, double-walled waste bowl, hot water pot with stand and burner, sugar bowl and creamer. Each piece, worked with infinite precision and aesthetic beauty, is signed on the base by the master and is an extraordinary example of the silver work created in Yokohama for the western market during the latter part of the 19th century. The condition of this set is excellent with no imperfections. Size of smallest to largest:height,3 3/4” (creamer); height,15” (hot water pot with stand). | |||||||||||
