| A rare studio porcelain three-footed cake dish with lovely cartouches in the forms of eggplants with detailed landscape scenes and plant studies in rich over-the-glaze blue on its lustrous white ground. The dish, surprisingly, is designed with this eggplant motif both on the topside and the nether portion of the dish. The signature cartouche of the great master ceramist ,MAKUZU KOZAN is on the base. The dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Diameter: 9" Circa 1900 (Meiji Period), Japan | ||||||||
