A pair of marvelous Imari porcelain vases with large acorn finials atop dome-like lids. The fluted and gently tapered bodies depict scenes of mysterious temple retreats, the background with textile-patterned cartouches and lush chrysanthemums. Characteristic of Japanese Imari porcelain, the bold color palette is composed of a harmonious combination of iron red, underglaze blue with gilt detailing. This pair of vases is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. Height: 14.5" Meiji Period, Japan
