This most unusual wood "treasure box" inro is complete with netsuke and ojime. Part of the sagemono family (things that hang from the obi), the body of the inro is smoothly polished and lightly lacquered, a mysterious hinged door opening on its side to reveal five miniature knobbed drawers within. The gold makie ojime is incised with textile patterning, the netsuke formed as Daikoku's sack with replicas of small rice barrels and his cap applied in relief . The Shoubun signature plaque and kao can be found on the base. This inro is in excellent condition. Length (Inro): 3" Meiji Period, Japan
