This is a finely crafted bronze okimono of a leafy tree branch, two charming songbirds perched on top. Carved, textured and patinated to resemble the grooves, veins and qualities of actual plants- this okimono is a perfect representation of nature's own artistry - as seen and emulated through the expertise of a Japanese artist of the Meiji Period. The two detachable song birds are executed in gilt and copper-splashed patination with beautifully chiseled details. This okimono is in excellent condition with no dents, scratches or restoration. Length: 14" Meiji Period, Japan
