Une Histoire Tres Drole. Mongols (A Very Funny Story. Mongols)
This intriguing woodblock print depicts a man clad in richly
colored robes kneeling by the side of his friend. The figures are
positioned against a grey and silver mica screen with a silhouette
of a Chinese-styled building. The noted artist, Paul Jacoulet,
figures in rich patterned fabrics and fur, all in bold colors. The
scene is all the
more interesting as the kneeling man furtively holds a hand to his mouth,
an amusing tale into the ear of his friend.
