Iron and Silver-Inlaid Abumi
Here is a wonderful pair of silver-inlaid iron abumi (stirrups) with red lacquered interiors. The abumi are kaga inlaid with butterflies and peony buds. Silver inlaid characters read in translation: "Made by Masahige from Kaga Province, Kanazawa Town." The abumi are in good condition for their age, exhibiting normal wear. Height (both): 9", length: 12" 18th Century (Edo Period), Japan
