| A large baluster-formed studio porcelain vase executed in various brilliantly colored enamels on a lustrous white ground. Small groves of kiku and bamboo rise from the foot of the vase and give way to gnarled flowering trees. Dramatic, convoluted clouds done in a transmutation glaze, provide an element of painterly surprise through the use of rich shades of greenish-blue.This striking porcelain vase is in excellent condition. Height: 14 3/8" Meiji Period, Japan | |||||||||
