| This is a lovely silver and multi-metal kogo formed as a recumbent crane, its neck snuggled in its plumage. The crane's shibuichi body is delicately modeled in low relief with shakudo tail and textured gilt crest, the silver interiors finely polished. Incised characters and two cartouches on its base read: "Gift for wedding of Takeko". This small kogo has slight discoloration to the shibuichi, (see detail shot #2) however, this does not affect the overall charm of the kogo - it makes a wonderful cabinet piece. Length: 3", height: 1.25" Showa Period, Japan | |||||||||
