| This is a charming soft-metal kogo formed as three clam shells. The large silver clam shell and two smaller clam shells of the group are fully modeled in gilt and shakudo, their exteriors naturalistically chiseled with wave-like grooves. The brilliant silver interiors, similarly modeled. Within the cover, incised square-mesh and pine mons can be found. This beautiful gem of a kogo shows a few signs of wear consistent with age. It includes an owner's box with mon on the lid and its own luxuriously woven silk-thread pillow. Length: 3" Showa Period, Japan | ||||||||||
