| A brilliantly enameled cloisonne vase of globular form executed in wireless and standard wired techniques. Precise wirework details each scale and graceful movement of a lone koi as it swims upon a graduated pale-blue enameled ground. The body of the fish is worked in colored enamels - blue, yellow and green shades - marvelously flowing into each other and capturing the iridescent and realistic qualities of actual fish scales. This magnificent vase is in excellent condition with neither damage nor restoration. Height: 8.25" Circa 1940s-50s (Showa Period), Japan | ||||||||
