Stunning pair antique Japanese Shibayama Lacquer plaques. Absolutely beautiful mirror pair. The lustrous black lacquer intricately inlaid in very high relief with exquisite Ivory Orchids and Butterflies. Dating from 19th century Meiji period. Very good antique condition throughout. Only one replacement ivory leaf see photograph. Small end bobble missing on three stamens (very minor) So rare to find a matching large pair of this design in such good condition.
