An antique "TRIFLE" - namely, a hand painted enamel-on-copper TRICORNE HAT. The hat has a white enamel background trimmed in blue and decorated with floral designs. Slight loss to some of the enamel but, overall, in good condition. The hat measures 2 inches by 1 3/4 inches by 1 3.4 inches across and has a height of 3/4 inches.
A RARE clothes brush issued as an advertising premium for the HOCHSCHILD KOHN & Co. Department Store, BALTIMORE MD. DATED 1897. The brush features a beautiful embossed brass top lettered: HOCHSCHILD KOHN & CO. 1897 HOWARD & LEXINGTON ST. BALT. MD. The brush has its original bristles. In excellent condition. The brush measures 4 inches by 3/4 inches by 1 1/2 inches.
A beautiful antique cake or dessert plate by ADDERLYS. Fine bone china. Longton, England. Circa 1910. Marked on the back with pattern number 14915. The plate has a decorative cobalt blue and gilt border with gilt handles. The cobalt border features a design of trailing gilt ivy leaves. The inner border features clumps of trailing green ivy leaves. The plate measures 10 inches from handle to handle. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or hairlines.
A TSAR NICHOLAS II PERIOD SILVER NAPKIN RING. Russia, St. Petersburg. Circa 1896-1917. Stamped with the silver standard mark 84 and with the city mark for St. Petersburg. Also stamped with an unknown maker's mark. The napkin ring features bright-cut floral and foliate engraving on either side of a banner which has an engraved name "OLGA" in cyrillic. A small ANTIQUE brass and enamel buckle. Circa 1910. The buckle is in two parts that hook together. Each half is formed as a modified heart (or leaf?) with scrolled edges and is centered with a diamond pattern decoration of turquoise and white enamel. The buckle would be suitable for a narrow ribbon or thin leather sash or belt. It measures 3/4 inch in height by 1 5/8 inches across when hooked together. A rare ART NOUVEAU lady's sterling silver nail file case and file. Circa 1899. The file is housed in an ART NOUVEAU sterling silver case (not marked) featuring (on both sides) a repousse figure of a woman picking fruit from the branches of an overhanging tree. A crested cup and saucer - each with the Coat of Arms of (Martyr) SAINT THOMAS A'BECKET. There is a very EARLY impressed mark for AYNSLEY china on the base of the saucer (see enlargement 5). The cup has a stamp for retailer J. Abrahams', Canterbury (see enlargement 4). Circa 1880. The Coat of Arms features a shield in turquoise, yellow, and black surmounting a banner which is captioned: ARMS OF St THOMAS A'BECKET. The date DEC 29 1170 is just below the banner. An antique 14K yellow gold and diamond Masonic Lapel Pin, circa 1909. Stamped 14K and tested. The figural pin features a scimitar, crescent, and five-point star. The star is centered with a 3 point Swiss-cut diamond set in prongs. An Egyptian motif is on the crescent. The pin is backed with a screw-on/off brass fitting for wearing on one's lapel. The pin measures 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. In excellent condition.
A fine antique Victorian papier mache string holder. English. Circa 1870. The black circular box and lid are decorated with Chinese figures and floral motifs. The lid has a brass rimmed hole in the center. There is a chip on the inner rim of the lid otherwise in very good condition. The holder measures 2 1/2 inches in height by 3 inches in diameter.
A fine silver-topped perfume bottle. Circa 1845. The hinged silver top has an engraved swirl design and is stamped with Dutch hallmarks. Original glass stopper. The elongated bottle has a faceted design. There are a few very tiny (extremely small) chips but this bottle is otherwise in excellent condition. It measures 4 3/8 inches in height by 1 1/2 inches in width.
