A Staffordshire plate by W. Adams & Sons. Molded border design (between ochre bands) of acorns, pineapples, and apples. The center features a scenic transfer print with overglaze painting in green, yellow, red, and blue. Underglaze stamp on the back captioned "Italian Scenery". There is a small flake to the ochre band (see enlargement 3) and light crazing otherwise in fine condition. Measures 6 1/8 inches in diameter.

A beautiful Haviland & Cie. plate with handpainted decoration signed by A. A. Elliott. Limoges, circa 1888-1896. Marked in underglaze green (see enlargement 9). The plate has a lobed edge and pale lavender border featuring raised shell-form decoration in gilt. The center of the plate has been masterfully painted by A. A. A lovely tea service set by William Guerin & Co., Limoges, France, circa 1915. The set consists of a large dessert plate, teapot and lid, sugar bowl and lid, and creamer. Each piece is stamped with Guerin's green mark underglaze (used 1900-1932) and with an additional overglaze mark, in gold, indicating the set was made exclusively for the prestigious Washington, D C firm of Dulin & Martin. Minton covered muffin dish, 1880. With incised marks on the bottom of the underplate for October 1880 (see enlargement 6). A two piece set consisting of an underplate and domed lid with knob. Both pieces have a decorated turquoise ribbon border design separated at intervals by four groups of pink roses. Gilt trim. The interior of the underplate has ribbed sides and the ribbed design is repeated on the lid. An antique English Imari or "Japan" pattern cup and saucer, circa 1805. Unmarked. Imari colors of underglaze blue with overglaze cobalt blue, iron red, green, and gilt accents. There is a small firing flaw to the rim of the cup (see enlargement 6) and the saucer has a surface 1 inch hairline which is on the underside rim of the saucer and does not go through to the front decoration. It is possibly a reproduction of a very early spoon - its only marks are: BM within a rectangle, lower case "r" in a shield-shaped punch surmounted by a triangular punch containing a device, and a third mark which cannot be identified (see enlargement 5). A Cantonese carved ivory needlecase, circa 1860. Screw-top tapered cylindrical shape. There is a very slight and insignificant chip to the top and also to the edge of the base. Age-soiled. Measures 3 1/8 inches in length.
