A wonderful sterling silver and abalone brooch in the shape of a leaf. Circa 1950s. Signed by the maker M S R and marked STERLING, 925, and TAXCO. Hinged straight pin on back with safety clasp. Also stamped with the Eagle 3 mark. The back of the pin is entirely silver and the front, in addition to the abalone shell, has silver veining. The artist has created a pin using extremely colorful abalone shell which has lovely pearlescent pinks, blues, and silver tones. In fine condition...
