Engraved pictorial title: "Beneath a lofty tulip's shade/Sat the young lover and th'Immortal maid". Head of spine and joints rubbed but overall a very good copy. This notable series was published from 1777 to 1783 and consisted of 109 volumes. John Bell (1745-1831) chose the best engravers and yet issued volumes costing only six shillings each at a time when similar volumes were many times that. This volume is number 75.
