A RARE HEREND porcelain demitasse cup and saucer for the FORTVNA RESTAURANT in BUDAPEST, HUNGARY. 1976. Stamped with Herend's mark used in 1976 only to commemorate the company's 150 years in business. The cup and saucer are each decorated in green and gold with a basketweave border and feature the restaurant's LOGO of "FORTUNA" - the Goddess of Fortune. The cup has a scalloped rim. The FORTVNA RESTAURANT (rated one of the 10 best in Hungary) is located in a 14th century building in the Castle Hill District of Budapest. The building has a long history leading to the restaurant's opening in 1957. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup measures 2 inches in height. There is a tiny rim chip on the saucer (please see enlargement 5) and some paint loss to the green trim just beneath the handle (please see enlargement 4) - otherwise in very good condition with no hairlines or crazing.
