A RARE HEREND demitasse cup and saucer made for the famous FORTVNA (sic) RESTAURANT in BUDAPEST, HUNGARY. Circa 1970s. Stamped with Herend's backstamp in blue. The cup and saucer each feature a basketweave border centered with the restaurant's LOGO depicting "FORTVNA" the Goddess of Fortune. Each piece is trimmed in green and gold. The restaurant is located in a 14th century building in the CASTLE HILL District of BUDAPEST, Hungary. The restaurant, which opened in 1957, has consistently been rated as one of the 10 best restaurants in Hungary. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup measures 2 inches in height.
