KING EDWARD VIII CORONATION GLASS TUMBLER. 1936
A fine glass tumbler issued to commemorate the Coronation of King Edward VIII. 1936. The Coronation, which would have been held in Westminster Abbey on May 12th, 1937, never took place as Edward - "The King Who Was Never Crowned" - abdicated in order to marry his American love - Wallis Simpson. Upon his abdication, Edward was granted the title "Duke of Windsor". The tumbler is decorated with a colorful decal and is accented with three stripes of red, white, and blue. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks - probably never used. The glass measures 4 1/2 inches in height.
