A vintage composition PIRATE DOLL. Circa 1930s. The doll has been dressed as a pirate. He wears a blue velvet coat, cream silk shirt and tan trousers accented with a red silk cummerbund. The doll lacks the lower half of his left leg and carries a cane. He also has a key tucked inside his cummerbund. As a final touch, there is a jaunty parrot perched on his left shoulder. The clothes appear to be hand made. The pirate theme was possibly conceived to hide damage to the doll's left leg - I have not examined the doll without its clothing as the clothing is firmly attached. The doll is in very good condition, as is, and measures 10 inches in height.
