AN UNUSUAL INDIAN BRITISH COLONIAL BOX. The box is fashioned to look like a stack of 10 INDIAN 1 RUPEE SILVER COINS. The lid unscrews and features a 1916 KING GEORGE V 1 RUPEE COIN. The King is shown in profile facing left and is lettered "GEORGE V KING EMPEROR". The reverse is marked: "ONE/RUPEE/INDIA/1916". The base of the box is another 1 Rupee coin for 1919. In between the top coin and the base coin are eight milled edges (only) of other coins. The silver content is roughly .917 (sterling is .925). The box measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter with a depth of 1 1/4 inches. In excellent condition.
