A BALTIMORE & OHIO RAILROAD MENU FOR JUNE 10, 1939 COMMEMORATING THE ROYAL VISIT OF THEIR BRITANNIC MAJESTIES KING GEORGE VI & QUEEN ELIZABETH TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The menu has a lacquer coating and was probably at one time framed. The lower edge has been trimmed and the menu has unfortunately lost its printed B.&O. identification. King George VI & Queen Elizabeth made a lengthy cross-country trip to Canada in 1938/39 and in June 1939 visited the U.S.A. at the invitation of President Roosevelt. During their stay, they were honored by a visit to the White House and on June 10, 1939 they visited the New York World's Fair followed by dinner at Roosevelt's Hyde Park. Any one visiting the World's Fair that day and traveling by train would have been given this special commemorative menu. The menu measures 9 1/8" x 7".
