| Ivory-framed portrait miniature on ivory of an elegant 18th century lady, said to be a portrait of Madame de Pompadour after Boucher, signed lower right under the edge of the frame by Wilke. Late 19th or early 20th century. The back lined in red velvet and with typed label: Mme. Pompadour nach Boucher/aul echi Elfenbein gemalf/painted on genuine ivory. The portrait, under glass, is in excellent condition, the frame with cracks visible in the photos. Length of portrait (sight) 1 7/8 inches (4.7cm), the frame 3 7/8 x 3 3/8 inches (10 x 8.7cm). | ||
